In the boys' bracket, Vinschool The Harmony are the reigning champions and return this season. Losing finalists THPT Cau Giay are also in. THPT Viet Duc, a co-third-place team last season, has registered again. In the girls' bracket, THPT Phan Dinh Phung have won two consecutive titles and remain on the list.

On structure: 12 schools are entering the boys' bracket for the first time, along with four new girls' teams. That means half the boys' field has never played this tournament.
